Dr. Pablo Tagle III D.C.

Dr. Tagle, a dedicated chiropractor, earned his Bachelor of Science in Biology from UTPA in 2003, followed by his Doctor of Chiropractic from Parker College of Chiropractic in 2007. His early experiences treating patients suffering from physical pain inspired him to search for more effective solutions to long-term health challenges.

In 2017, Dr. Tagle met Dr. Jacob Torres, PhD, MPH, DC, the founder of the Institute for Functional Health in San Antonio. Through this collaboration, he adopted the Total Health Transformation Program, an all-encompassing approach to healthcare that focuses on addressing the root causes of chronic conditions rather than just managing symptoms.

Today, Dr. Tagle delivers these customized treatment plans to patients in McAllen, offering a holistic and natural approach to relieve physical, mental, and emotional pain associated with conditions like high blood pressure, inflammatory disorders, chronic fatigue, diabetes, and more.

NP. Joe Perales

Joe Perales grew up in McAllen, Texas and graduated from Nikki Rowe H.S. in 1998.  After graduation he attended undergraduate school at UTPA and STC to pursue nursing where he obtained LVN certificate and later ADN-RN degree. He began his nursing career in long-term care and skilled nursing were, he found a passion for healthcare and was particularly drawn to the nurse-patient relationship.

He continued to pursue his ambition with a purpose of advancing his knowledge and graduated from UT-Arlington in 2014 with his bachelor’s degree in nursing. In 2016, he received his Master of Science in Nursing at Walden University, respectively, earning his Family Nurse Practitioner board-certification.

He spent 10 years, as a nurse, assistant director, and director of nurses respectively, in long-term care and skilled nursing, with focus on rehabilitation medicine, geriatric care, and internal medicine. He also had a desire to work in emergency department and worked in the ER at DHR. He worked there for on the floor and as director of the emergency department. Joe decided to pursue the Family Nurse Practitioner’s career after spending time in the emergency department, skilled nursing, acute care, and geriatric care, and seeing the impact on his patients improving with proper treatment and preventive care.

He believes in the approach to healthcare here at Elite Functional Health in McAllen, Texas and integrates all his experience into how he cares for our patients. Joe’s aspiration for holistic and functional medicine along with family practice, is to apply his knowledge in treating patients with diabetes, renal failure, autoimmune disorders, hypertension, hyperlipidemia, hormone imbalance, joint pain, and alopecia with the optimal goal in restoration, and regeneration with body, mind, and spirit.

He has been practicing as a nurse practitioner for 7 years. He is a current member of the Texas Nurse Practitioner Association and American Association of Credentialing Center (ANCC) for Board-Certified Nurse Practitioners. He is a proud member of Texas Nurses Association, and American Nurses Association.  Joe is a member of International Nursing Honor Society, in 2016 for his academic excellence in his Master of Science in Nursing studies. He is also a member of the American College of Lifestyle Medicine. Currently he is attending the University of Texas at Austin for the Doctor of Nursing Practice Program. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his wife Nicole of 23 years, and three children, one daughter, two sons, and his three dogs.

Marissa Tagle MPAS, PA-C

Marissa Tagle is a dedicated Physician Assistant with extensive experience in acute care, diagnostics, and treatment procedures across multiple healthcare settings. Marissa is state board certified in Texas and holds several advanced life support certifications. She received her Master’s Degree in Physician Assistant Studies from the University of Texas-Pan American and a Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Texas at San Antonio. Fluent in both English and Spanish, she is equipped to serve a diverse patient population.

Currently, she serves full-time at Elite Functional Health, conducting comprehensive evaluations and developing personalized treatment plans for acute and chronic conditions, emphasizing lifestyle modifications and hormone replacement therapy. Her holistic approach incorporates health consultations and advanced therapies, including ozone therapy and platelet-rich plasma injections.

Previously, Marissa Tagle was a full-time Physician Assistant at an Orthopedic Center, where she played a critical role in patient assessments, surgical assistance, and the management of treatment protocols in orthopedic care. Her expertise encompasses a wide range of diagnostic skills, including the interpretation of complex imaging studies.

Beyond her clinical practice, Marissa Tagle is committed to continuous learning and professional development, staying abreast of the latest advancements in regenerative medicine. Her passion and dedication to patient care ensure an integrative approach that positively impacts the lives of those she serves.

In her free time, Marissa enjoys a variety of hobbies, including exercise, weightlifting, and healthy eating. Nutrition is another key interest; she actively researches and practices healthy eating habits to fuel her body and optimize her well-being. Marissa is a dedicated mother who prioritizes the well-being and happiness of her family while also making time to pursue her personal goals. She balances a career, maintains a healthy lifestyle, and spends quality time with her loved ones.
